I got it working. Here's what I did for those having any issues. It didn't work initially after activating on Ting's website and restarting. I de-activated it on the website, re-activated it again and restarted the phone. Still no luck. Finally, after the third restart of my phone, the no service message at the top of the phone screen went away and it started searching before then activating. It may possibly be that I'm in a low coverage area. Make sure you verify a good signal and keep trying. Just got the email to start up service with Ting for my iPhone 4! It's not working. I restarted my phone and it was still attached to Sprint. So then I backed up all my stuff on iCloud and Factory Reset it. Still connected to Sprint! I am a new customer and want to activate my Sprint Forward SM. I want to move my phone number from another carrier to Sprint Forward. I am a current customer and I. I did not formally disconnect my Sprint service yet my calls and texts cannot be completed because my Network is unavailable. But Ting isn't showing up. Do I need to dial into Sprint and dis-connect my service with them? It seems it's already disconnected, yet showing their Network and not Tings. What should I do??? So far I have 0 service from anywhere. I was unable to activate my old iPhone 4S. The number assigned and the voicemail setup without issue and was quick, but the phone would not relinquish its old sprint number (that number was moved over to ting a month or so ago). The network resets and multiple power offs and extended offs did not correct it. I ran a full backup in itunes, removed the usb cable, then used the reset instructions to wipe the device, went through the initial iphone setup (did not restore the backup yet) and the phone showed 'searching' in the upper left for about 3 minutes before it popped up a window that said it was activating. Another minute and a popup that the activation was successful followed by another tense minute before the 'searching' in the upper left was replaced with bars. A few moments later, it lit up 'Sprint' next to the bars and all my test messages from a few hours ago came in. Outbound and inbound calls started working near immediately at this point. This all appears to be the iphone just not releasing the number (I found other reports of people having this happen on the 4s when trying to move numbers all within sprint and the only fix they found was doing the full reset). My plan was $65 USD per month then I received a notification for an additional $185 USD ‘list extension fee’.I immediately contacted them to find out what that was since there’s no visible mention of this astronomical fee anywhere or warnings / reminders to ensure you don’t incur it & it took days of correspondence with their support staff to get the info I needed to identify & rectify the cause. (My assistant had created segmented lists with repeat emails & they charge you on the aggregate total not on the actual number of emails.) So I exported all the dormant segment lists & dropped by plan & a new billing cycle was begun after days of being locked out of my account, unable to dispatch my e-zine to subscribers. When I asked why they said they charged me for being in breach of my old plan for those few days when my account was frozen after I received notification.
